New chapter, and a residency in the woods.

November 6, 2022.

My time on Joe Pickett Season 2, done.

House sold.

My possessions stored away.

I’ve packed a mini studio into my Jeep, along with clothes and some fishing gear. First stop - interior BC to an artist residency for almost 2 months. Maybe, I’ve brought too many books?

I had a conversation with a friend a few weeks ago, his opinion being the fewer the keys on a keyring, the more 'free' that person is. I started the beginning of Summer with a keyring that would rival a janitor’s. Now, I’m down to 1 key. And I do feel free.

The day before I was supposed to leave, the rear brake calliper of my Jeep fell off. I had just had my brakes ‘done’ the week before, so this was not ideal. (One can argue whether they were in fact, done). I was helped by a great guy who also happens to be a mechanic, and I was eventually on my way. 2 Ave SE High River, I’ll never forget you.

I’ve arrived in BC and started my residency. Outside, the snow is blowing, and I’ve started 3 paintings.
